The Console knows about your keys now. It prints 1 while you hold W, -1 while you hold S and 0 the rest of the time. Meanwhile the paddle keeps drifting up as if nothing were pressed. Those two halves have never met. One piece added to the movement line joins them, and the left paddle answers to the keyboard.
